We have picked out the 8 most innovative plant start-ups (including us, of course) and are introducing you to what they do!
1. FARBIO® – Grow Your Jungle
We founded FARBIO® in Hamburg in 2021. We develop high-quality, organic plant fertilizers for conscious users. All products are produced in Europe according to strict quality standards and are organic and plastic-free. In addition to effective liquid fertilizers, our start-up also offers a magazine with trendy and interesting topics about houseplants. 2. Sprossenliebe – microgreens from the windowsill
The start-up from Austria, more precisely Bad Kleinkirchheim, was founded in 2021 by two sisters. The two love microgreens and have been supplying their friends and families with the vitamin-rich greens for a long time. Now it was time to let others share in their “love of sprouts”. They offer growing kits and instructions as well as tips for the kitchen garden!

3. Urbanhive – Your indoor garden for your home
The vertical indoor farming start-up was founded in Münster in 2021 and makes it possible to grow greens in your own four walls, without a green thumb. Their goal: to give people access to healthy, sustainable and fresh greens as well as better air. Smart vertical modules are offered that control growth with an app. With the farming module, vegetables, herbs and microgreens can be grown and harvested.
4. FYTA – Smart plant care
The innovative plant care start-up was founded in Berlin in 2018. The FYTA Beam is a plant sensor that is intended to help better understand plants and keep them healthy. All you have to do is put it in the plant pot and you will receive information about soil moisture, fertilizer content, light and temperature via the app. The combo pack also includes a pH kit.
5. Mazzo Pazzo – Let your home go green
The online shop describes itself as passionate about plants and wants to share this passion with you! A familiar and cross-generational shop with an eye on the plant-crazy customer. There is also a large selection of special plants and stylish pots!
6. Wundergarten – climate protection through biochar
The Berlin start-up was founded in 2019 with the desire to actively do something about climate change. The vision is to sustainably reduce CO₂ pollution: with biochar. The added biochar in the miracle soil and the plant care products removes CO2 from the atmosphere and stores it, you have to water and fertilize less often and plants grow more magnificently. Everything under the motto: Good for the climate. Good for plants. Good for you.
7. CrowdFarming – organic food directly from the farmer
The farming start-up was founded in Madrid in 2017 to enable the sale of food without intermediaries. With this platform you can order seasonal products directly from organic farmers in Europe without any detours and thus support sustainable and socially fair agriculture. Either you adopt a tree and its yield or you buy a box directly from the farmer.
8. Botanicly – Climate Positive Plants
The start-up from Berlin, founded in 2018, sells climate-positive house plants. For every plant you buy there, the CO2 released is calculated, an additional 10% is added and compensated. Also great: the plants are shipped directly from the grower to reduce transport routes.
